Amanda’s love for dance began at a very young age. What started out as an extracurricular activity at the age of 2 quickly changed into a passion and dance became a very important part of her life. Amanda joined a competitive dance team at the age of 8 and continued to dance competitively for ten years. During this time, she traveled around the world, representing Canada at World Championships on several different Canadian Dance teams. Always eager to further her dance education, Amanda attended the Quinte Ballet School and The National Ballet of Canada’s summer programs and intensives. While teaching and sharing her love of dance to young dancers, Amanda studied in the Performance Dance Program at Ryerson University. Her passion for dance and teaching young children led Amanda to continue her studies and she received her Masters in Education from Niagara University. Now , six years into her dance teaching career, Amanda continues to further her dance education by attending workshops and programs so that she is able to provide quality technique and current material for her students. As a young choreographer, Amanda has won numerous choreography awards while her students have won many high score and overall awards, as well as many special Judges Awards. Amanda is very proud to be a teacher and choreographer in genres such as Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical and Jazz at Miss Kathie’s Just Dance Academy.
